Curfew in Metro Manila

Yes yes, this is my 3rd enrty for today.
It's because I'm ranting...

Sadness... Phillipine goverment declares curfew in Metro Manila starting 12 midnight today until 5am

I'm pasting the full news her, got this from inquirer:

Gov’t declares curfew in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

‘This is not martial law’--PNP chief

By Lira Dalangin-Fernandez
INQUIRER.net
Last updated 07:49pm (Mla time) 11/29/2007

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 2) The government, through Interior and Local Secretary Ronaldo Puno has imposed a curfew throughout Metro Manila, in Central Luzon (Region 3), and CALABARZON (Region 4-A).

The curfew starts 12 midnight to 5 a.m. Friday.

"We are doing this to protect the citizenry. This is not martial law,"
Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.

Razon said the curfew would hopefully be implemented for just a day.

In a news briefing in Malacañang, Puno appealed to the public to "bear with the inconvenience" brought about by the declaration of the curfew.

He said the curfew was issued "to allow law enforcement agencies to continue their follow-up operation."

Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon has been directed to issue the guidelines on the curfew, Puno added.

"We would encourage everyone to cooperate with the rules and guidelines relative to this curfew," he said.

Puno said regions 3 and 4-A were included in the curfew because there were some areas here that were part of the greater Manila area.

"Police authorities want to ensure that Manila is safe and sound," he said.

Asked if there was a possibility of extending the curfew, Puno said this could be the case "if the follow up operations that would ensue will not achieve their objectives," but added that this would be reviewed on a day-to-day basis.

Puno said public transportation would not be allowed to ply in the period of curfew.

He added that those that would be in the streets during the period of curfew would be the subject of "serious scrutiny" in checkpoints that would be set-up in the three regions affected.

Puno said those that would be subjected to checkpoints should be able to present valid identification cards and should not be carrying weapons.

Sigh... I want peace in our country =(

CAFÉ HAVANA

Cafe Havana is a resto-bar that serves authentic Cuban and Spanish dishes. There are several branches of Café havana here in Manila but I’ve been going to Greenbelt 3 branch. What can I say?

Ok, Ok, Good side first. Cafe Havana serves good food, well I personally lurve their tender juicy steak (yummy), good music (Jazz, Latin, Congo), nice chill-out place especially after tiring work days... And this:

Mojito and Mangojito are definitely love.

NOW, with the cost exception, the real bad side for me is that, most foreigners flocked together in this place, nope I have no problem with aliens but this place is packed with prostitutes. I just hate the fact that the resto-bar is becoming red-district at night time. Gawd, there are lots of woman and gay (post-op or pre-op I’m not sure) ,but they are really foxy, I mean fox-ier than those woman… I’m kinda wondering though if foreigner knew that they are man back then…ALL RIGHT, enough now, I shall stop here.

Workey workey eat eat

All work, no play but definitely we wouldn't missed good eating.

Monday I was asking Rommel about certain Italian resto when we started to feel hungry, so after a few minutes of chitchatting in MOC, we headed straight to Amici de don bosco and have yummy yummy pizza and pasta. Ohhhh yeah I also have my UCC’s blueberry cheesecake that night.

Tuesday was mangojito day for us, our original plan was to watch pinoy flick but ended up having dinner at GB3's Banana leaf curry house and chill-out a little at Cafe Havana.

Noticed that I haven't taken food pictures and I am sorry. I did remember taking pictures but that was after we ate...we must be really really hungry. Anywooo, I will be blogging about some details about banana leaf and cafe havana next time.

AnaBelly – you are missed. But surely you are having fun there. Pasalubong!

Afraid to love

When a friend asked me if I’m afraid to love, without any shilly-shallying I replied "NO". And had a thought again, if I'm not really afraid then why... well I’m pretty and pretty damn smart… haha!

Yes, I have been disappointed in the past, shattered, and hurt... you know;p, but I don't think "hurt" is really not a bad thing for one main reason that I've learned a lot of hell about it, it is somehow a part of who I am now, a great force that shaped my personality. However, having said that I'm pretty sure that I’m more cautious now, not on falling in love but finding/choosing the right one, beside I’m getting old, right?

You, are you afraid on falling in love?

Anyway leaving you with some love quotes:

'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. -Alfred Lord Tennyson

Love is never lost. If not reciprocated, it will flow back and soften and purify the heart. - Washington Irving

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have lost at all - Samuel Butler

Cafe Breton

Cafe Breton has been around for quite a while; well the name has become one of "our" favorite spots back then. Nope, I’m not really reminiscing here or some sort, but it has been long since the last time I actually ate there and I never thought that I missed the place, not until last Monday, when Donna celebrated her b-day with me at GB3's Breton... Whoa! The taste is still the same and I've fallen back again...

For our main course:

Galette bretone is made up of Spinach shrimp sautéed with crab meat, fresh cream and gruyere cheese; this is perfect, not unless you have allergic reaction to seafood.

And La magnifique! for dessert - Banana, nutella, whipped cream topped with almonds... How can you ever go wrong?

DELICIOUS! YUMMY! YUMMY! DELICOUS!

La pinay and blueberries and cream crepes are love too … Mmmmmm!

GDD Indian cuisine

Somewhere along Retiro st. lays GDD Indian cuisine restaurant. As the name goes, it caters north of India's cuisine. The place isn't really that big, it can fit approximately around 30 pax; canteen setup, red-orange wall with some Indian poster and clay pot furnished.

Now, the food. Food in my opinion isn't really bad but it is not to die for either or maybe I'm comparing it to my favorite Indian resto new Bombay. But if your tongue wished to have a different touch, this place is worth trying, uhmmm at least once.

We ordered for:

Samosa with choley- Chotley? Well I’m not a fan of beans but the Samosa taste good. The Samosa is like out own version of empanada, only stuffed with curried potato. It cost around P55 bucks.

Lamb curry - according to menu this is their chef special but the lamb meat is drowning with curry sauce and the taste is just plain curry with lamb. Cost around P190.

Chicken biryani - I was expecting chicken biryani would come with diced boneless chicken, but their version comes with chopped boned chicken I personally not like it. Cost around P150.

Waved goodbye

One of my travel companions is dead...No, no, it's not a person but my beloved ipod shuffle gave up on me… sadness! I've been with my shuffle for almost 3 years and it was somehow attached to me. I love the stuff especially when traveling/commuting and working-out as it was very portable and convenient unlike ipod video/photo... I have it checked in apple clinic and they said that it is for replacement because it can not be repaired and since it was no longer under warranty, it is like buying a new unit already L So bye bye my shuffle. *sigh.

CLOSER

Love is accident waiting to happen.

Desire is a stranger you think you know.

Intimacy is is a lie we tell our self.

Truth is a game you play to win.

If you do believe in love at first sight, you'll never stop looking.

I've happened to re-watched 2004 movie closer in DVD last night, starring Julia Robert (Anna), Nathalie Portman (Alice), Jude Law (Dan) and Clive Owen (Larry). Like before I find closer fascinating… It is a talky but no shabby adult drama film; it is an honest movie that tackles real issues... I like the scene turnarounds, on how users become victims and vices versa. It navigates emotional extremes and eyelovet!

Ooohh... I just remembered I'm in love with Jude Law...Gorgeous!

Oliver's super baked potato

I've always liked sandwiches from "Oliver's super sandwiches". I love the fact that they served the thing called quality and quantity sandwiches and the fact that they have wide assortment of gourmet, deluxe & grilled sandwiches, salad, baked potatoes, pasta, fruits and cakes is definitely a plus to me. And the fact that there is a newly opened Oliver's here in RCBC plaza makes me feel uhmmm I dunno... excited or joyous perhaps...ha-ha!

Anyway after a long working day, I was actually craving for good food to somewhat ease my tiredness, so I roamed the whole RCBC podium with Francois and ended up ordering baked potato with herbed and cheese and dalandan juice at Oliver’s... it was my 1st time to try their baked potato, reaction? Whoa! Perfect…My craving was definitely satisfied.

Screechy Scoozi

In spite of my busy work schedule, I’m writing a quick blog now. Because I'm ranting about the newly opened Italian food place here in RCBC plaza called Scoozi. I ordered for chicken parmigiana with mashed potato and seasonal veggies, it cost P100 and comes in black styro package... Why I'm ranting? Coz It doesn't really feel right... there's nothing really special about the chicken parmigiana plus the tomato sauce and cheese topping is less, and the mashed potato =(…it was so bland...tsktsk! We (yes we) ended up buying dessert/ having 2nd lunch after.. just so to satisfy ourselves.

But to be fair to Scoozi, according to one of my Colleague, their pasta is good... Well I might try their pasta next time... but not too soon, I guess.

Love actually

“…If you look at it, I've got a sneaky feeling that you'll find that love actually is all around." I happened to watched love actually again last weekend in DVD. Love actually is a fun movie released last 2003, a very nice, genuine and heartfelt romantic comedy.
The movie has no structure, just a jumble of interconnected stories about love, flirtation, courtship and heartbreak… Charming and irresistible, I lurve this movie, I really really do... Suddenly it feels like a little chrismasy (maybe because of the scene)... NOW, I just need that someone...harhar! Just like what I did, go re-watch this movie again or perhaps, watch it if you never have. Surely you’ll enjoy it.

Under eye circle

What is the first thing you do when you woke up? Me? I checked myself out in the mirror. Sniff, sniff the first sight of myself today is the sight of those dark circles under my eyes.
Probably this is the result of staying up too late and waking up early. Perhaps, I’m stressed? Lately I've been going home late because of taddaaa....work. Yeah I’ve been working late for the past few weeks, not that I’m workaholic but it is necessary…

This is not good...
1.) I sometimes forgot to eat dinner, and ended up eating junks before going to sleep.
2.) Apparently, It seems that water is not becoming part of my system, not that I forgot to drink, but I’m too busy and uhmmmm lazy to grab some water from our office pantry and beside I’m not feeling thirsty.
3.) Not enough vitamins.
4.) I’m feeling weak and old.
5.) ____________ fill it =)

I miss sleeping early...
I miss eating good food...
I miss gym...
I miss Spa...
I miss shopping...

Tea bags? Sliced cucumber ? Eye cream? Or whatever… I really need remedy to get rid of this under eye circles /eye bags.

Mickey's Delicatessen

I'm currently inside Mickey's delicatessen having quick dinner with Donna.
Ordered Original nurnberger pork sausage,so far so good.. details to follow :P

./edited

Seriously, I was intrigued by this place every time I passed by Jupiter, so last night I tagged Dona along with me and try the visually appetizing place called Mickey’s, owned by former Manila Hotel chef Michael Beck. The place is cozy, well-furnished and well-lighted. The staff are accommodating… On a Sunday night it's kinda surprising how packed the place was.

Anyway, I ordered for 6 pieces original nurnberger pork sausage (best seller) and paired it with warm Bavarian Potato Salad. There's a unique blend of spices in their sausage that makes it so tasteful. Even their mustard is good. Their bread selections are to rave - fresh and very good quality.

Ohhh This place offers selection of German beers ... too bad I am not a beer drinker.

A meal would cost 300 and up…
