Best Day Ever...

A new day has dawned. And with it, countless new positive possibilities have been born.
Certainly there are difficulties and obstacles in your life and in your world.
Yet they are always outnumbered by your blessings.
Focus today on those blessings.
Give your attention and your awareness to what's right with life.
Those who wish to control you and to take advantage of you will seek to fill your thoughts with fear and discouragement.
Yet there is really no reason for you to be fearful or discouraged.
For life is not what someone tells you it will be.
Life is precisely what you make it.
By focusing on the good things, on the positive possibilities, on your blessings and opportunities, you can make life truly magnificent.
A new day has dawned, and you can choose to make it the best day ever.

Recipes by Café Metro

I can't believe I haven't blogged about Recipes yet... From time to time, my friends and I craving over "recipes". The place is casual and cheerful; Like you are just dining in your own home but with gathering (haha). I can remember those times where we were there almost every week and enjoying same variety of food.

Gising gising. p135. - Our all time favorite... This dish is spicy and is truly addictive; with chopped beans cooked to perfaction in coconut milk. OMG! thinking of its description, makes me drool...

General Chicken.P175- Another favorite of ours, greatly marinated chicken sauteed with eggplant, taste a little sweet and is flavorful; Chicken is cripy yet tender juicy... I must be hungry now... I'm drooling over this dish too :(

Hmmm.. I'm not sure if its good now, but I can't seem to find the picture of their crispy tilapia.P175, anyway it also one of our favorite and is delicious as well...

Food servings are good for two =)

I'm so pissed with nso

Last Thursday I called NSO helpline requesting for my birth certificate delivery...
I paid P330 last Friday thru Metro bank...
And today I got my NSO certified birth certificate...

Sure it was fast, I was giddily excited to open the package and see my birth certificate and compare the yellow sheet with the old one…. But what the hey #?!$%@ - I have no name in my birth certificate... sad

So I called them up again, and they mentioned that I need to file a supplemental in my birthplace municipality because it was the information sent to them

Goshhhhhhhh... Are those people really not eligible to check the conciseness of certificate? Most especially the NAME…. HALLER??? After all, the first thing they would ask you is when you called is your complete name and birth date… PUNKS!

Maybe its just my case...

One rainy Saturday we (Tri and Jov) decided to have lunch in one of the newest resto in Greenbelt 3 named Marciano, according to Tri it is owned by actor Marvin Agustin; Marciano is a very stylish restaurant that serves Italian-American cuisine. Ambiance looks contemporary, maybe because of dimmed lights and chandeliers and of course the curtains, but is not that formal.

Freebies: Long and thinly sliced crunchy crackers served in a cocktail glass with three kinds of dips.

For appetizer, we ordered for puffed mozzarella stick with smoked pomodoro and prosciutto for P299 - Hmmm, it taste like pizza hut's chessy stuffed crust, as in!

Rockefeller Angus. P308. Angus beef, spinach, onion and mozzarella. The pizza was just ok, It is a little chewy and a little crispy, but I might order different flavor next time... Well, frankly , the reason why we ordered this because it sounds cool... lol
Madison Avenue Sausage and Pepper pasta. P298. Normally the pasta they serve for this is Spag or linguine, obviously we changed the pasta to something else since I don't eat spag and Tri is not a big fan either... anyhow the pasta servings is huge, needless to say that it can be shared by 3-4 pax but, but you have to eat other dish. :D
Overall, the place is a nice hangout place with sophisticated ambiance and satisfactory service... Food wise? uhmmm lets just talk about the ambiance :p, maybe I'll try their other dish(hmmmm steak!) next time...

Chariya's Thai Kitchen

There's a new resto in our block, it is called Chariya's Thai kitchen... Well, the same place where the old soms noodle house is located, but was renovated into an open air dining place. The place is small yet clean, style is not classy, simple yet inexpensive.

Ohhhh.. Chariya is indeed a person, she's a Thai and she or her brother cooks their food. Curiously I asked her if it is similar to SOMS... according to her the owner of SOMS is her cousin but their food have differences. Anyway we've chanced to take her photos, here the very accomodating Chariya:

Most of the thai restaurant served Thai ice tea, yeah they also have that here for P35... but they also have Thai green tea for P50 which for me is fantastic, personally I can compare it with starbucks green tea frap...

Crabmeat fried rice P130. I love tasty fried rice and these meet my expectations, I can eat this without ordering any other meal. The serving is huge, It is good for 3 to 4 pax(well for my built i guess) :p
Tom Yam shrimp P140, serving is good for 2; with 4 pieces fresh shrimps, it taste good even without the usual coconut milk but it could have been better if there's a mushroom on it...

Chicken kaprow P140. Well, kaprow mean stir fried with basil. The chicken is tender the taste has a hint of hotness which is simply delicious maybe because of the bell pepper and basil.

For dessert we had Thai halo halo. P60. Ingredients include cocomilk, jackfruit, water chestnut and a green jelly stuff (i'm not really sure what was it). It was made the way I like it, colorful and not too sweet :D
They also have salad, curries, grills, noodles and other thai cuisines in their menu list.

In my opinion, Chariya's Thai kitchen has a lot to offer... It'll soon be a fuzz...

A meaningful yet meaningless post...

I know, I’m not been so visible in the blogosphere lately and I’m sorry. I’ve to admit that I’ve become lazy, delinquent perhaps… and yeah a little selfish to share my thoughts online… but hey, am still the same old person but with a little twist; like a pirate who just found his treasure... blurry e? Anyway just go figure! :D

Life is full of oddities as well as amazing possibilities… I’m positively looking forward… cheers!

Pho 24

Most of the Vietnamese restaurant here in Manila starts with Pho; Pho is a traditional Vietnamese rice-noodle dish. I love Vietnamese noodle soup/pho. Pho 24 means 24 ingredients and is one of noodle house that serves affordable and savory Vietnamese noodle soup.

In my opinion almost all pho resto here in metro are the same... In Pho 24 a bowl of noodle cost only P99 for a regular serving. To enjoy pho - just add bean sprout, squeeze a little amount of lemon then add the basil/peppermint leaves to your bowl, put a little chili sauce and hoi sin sauce and then eat it while its hot else the noodle will get soggy... Yum!

Secret Recipe

People have been raving about Secret recipe; I’ve final got to try this “one of much talked about” restaurant in Shangri-La mall… The interiors are nice combination of red + white + those appetizing pictures off the wall. Ambiance is cheerful.

Irish Lamb Stew. P480. Lamb shank is slow cooked to tenderness, stewed, served with mashed potato. Juicy and comforting, might be their best seller.

Caribbean style catch of the day. P350. Fish is served with tasty cream sauce, lemon and lettuce at the side; I'm sorry I forgot the kind of fish since our server keep on saying sea bass and keeps of correcting herself...

Personally, I find this resto over rated... ooopss don't get me wrong, they indeed serve good food but nothing really fancy, or maybe I didn't try their dessert which according to some are the best.
