Corner Tree Cafe

If you are looking for a meatless meal, I would highly recommend Corner tree cafe along Jupiter St. Makati - Corner tree cafe has a homey and semi-fine dining feel with comfy healthy charm in it; it has an extensive menu of appetizers, soup, salad and main dishes such as burgers, pasta and rice.

I've chanced upon this resto 2 months ago with Roly, so forgive me if I can't remember some detailed information regarding our meal.... eniweiz...

Spinach & Pechay Chowder. P95.00/cup
Like any other soup, it is comforting, it taste like pureed leaf, well, a little bland for my taste but salt and pepper did the works.

North African Vegetable Stew.P260.00
A rich flavourful stew infused with saffron & Moroccan spices served over couscous, and topped with toasted almonds & fresh coriander.

Served with our spicy harissa, extra sauce and organic greens on the side
Here's another meal which the name I can't remember, I think this meal is part of their monthly specials... anyone?
It looks like meat balls but it is purely vegetable (tofu and nuts) balls on top of brown rice. Cost around P250-300.00

Ohh, they also served Mojito which I think uses muscavado sugar which I think is healthy(?). lol!
Hmmm... I shall be back soon and shall feed P with veggies.

I think this should be one of the top vegetarian restaurant in Metro Manila...

Katy Perry Rocks for Relief

Honestly, I only knew Katy Perry for just one song which was "I kissed a girl", but since Mr. Whymark was so eager to watch Katy Perry's concert (because of She wore a red hot pants)... The concert was supposedly last October 3,2009 but since the cold typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng devastated our country, it was held last Sunday,November 14,2009 at Mall of Asia grounds and was "re"-entitled "‘Katy Perry Rocks for Relief’ which was more relevant than the 1st "supposedly" concert, since it was a fund raising event for the typhoon survivors.

The concert was SWEET, crowd were crazy. Katy Perry was so cool and gorgeous, there was a point where she went to the audience and started kissing people.... Too bad that our master planner Aubrey wasn't able to catch the show since he left for Quatar that same day.

Anywoo... Here are some of our pictures taken from my humble camera phone during the event:

Mao, Cel, Tri, Me and half faced Tere (from left to right)

The whole gang, Jen, Ana, Tere, Me , Cel, Tri with Mao taking the pix

Us, again :)

Now, I knew about 2 to 3 songs of Katy Perry :) She's really a good performer :)

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao legendary...

I was able to witnessed Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto match at the Nike "by invites only" live screening event at whitespace gallery, with free food and overflowing booze - Thanks to the famous and the number one Nike fan/blogger KingCrux31.

Oooohhh, look, how dope the boxing ring floor canvas displayed in the events, mural made by artist AJ Dimarucot (Good job!).
Dear NIKE, convert this to a tee please ;-)

Congratulation Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao for winning the welterweight division, and for making us Filipino proud again. The only boxer in the history to have won in seven different weight divisions –WOOHOOO! You’re the greatest fighter ever

I was literally shouting and jumping for Joy... Love the fight, it was legendary!

Canton Soup Kitchen

This is an overdue post...

We were looking a food places to eat in Banawe area and decided to drive around, until I saw Canton soup kitchen; as a soup lover, the name soup kitchen catches my eye.

The place itself is not so big but the interior is cute, it has an oriental feel.

At first I thought that this restaurant is like those of "soup kitchen" style which only offer soup and appetizer for eats but nope it is not.
lurke... They have all day promo for dimsum. P43.00 why not?
here's our dimsum order....
Sea food fried noodles...
Fish fillet with tausi...
And our free complimentary dessert, almond jelly.
Well, portions are generous and prices are economical. Ehmmm... I remember keeping the receipt so I can blog the exact prices, but I might have lost it :( churi.

Price range is around P100-P300/meal except for the dimsums which is P43.00.

...Chinese food cravings will surely be satisfied here :)

Flu Vaccine

Flu shot is said to be the best way to prevent the flu, I had my shot last July but it seemed not to work for me. YEAP, I am sick with a mild flu and I hate it… ARGGGGHHH!!! Throat hurts, body ache, fatigue is just reigning all over me... I can’t clearly breathe…

On a positive note it's not H1N1 but still... :(

This is the not so recent shot of my flu vaccine... Yes, I'm afraid of needles :(

Anyway, got this from wiki: The influenza vaccine is an annual vaccine to protect against the highly variable influenza virus[1]. Each injected seasonal influenza vaccine contains three influenza viruses: one A (H3N2) virus, one regular seasonal A (H1N1) virus (not the 2009 pandemic H1N1 virus), and one B virus. Starbucks red cups and 2010 planner

I know I'm a bit late but the Starbucks red cups are back (started last Nov 4, 2009) - this means time for Starbucks Christmas tradition for 2009 - The goal is to accumulate 17 stickers( 9 stickers for holiday featured beverages) to redeem a limited edition starbucks coffee 2010 planner.

Like last year, there are 3 design to choose from( see pix lower right), honestly I think the planner is just simple but WTH, it's free when you complete the stickers, right? right? plus
every redemption comes with a donation to the continuous relief efforts for the Typhoon Ondoy victims and to SparkHope( Starbucks flagship program for early childhood care and development in partnership with UNICEF).

PS: Sorry for the not so good quality picture.
This years Holiday beverages:
Toffee Nut Latte (WOOOHOO!), Dark Cherry Mocha and Peppermint Mocha.

... Soon it will be Christmas DAY.

Wine Tasting @ Foley Estates Winery

We had our wine tasting at Foley estate vineyard and winery in Santa Ynez Valley and paid $10 for 5-6 glasses of wines, that include chardonnay(2-3),a dry rose and Pinot noir (2).

Wine is said to be an acquired taste - The more you taste and understand the more you'll get to appreciate it. Well, I can't seem to understand its subtle complexities just yet, but I overheard from those other group of wine drinker that Foley's pinot noir was the best.

I think Wine tasting procedure is almost the same as coffee tasting procedure.
1.) Tilt from side to side- This so you can see its appearance.
2.) Sniff/Smell - to evaluating the aroma
3.) Sip - Gently roll around inside your mouth
4.) Spit/Enjoy

I might not appreciate alcoholic drink that much, wine on this instance but Foley surely has a modern and spacious tasting room and a beautiful vineyard scenery.

Malibu Beach, California

It was summer in California, so the idea was beach beach beach...
There we went off to Malibu beach for the not so crowded scene....

Whilst, the sun was high and the weather hot - the water was friggin' icy cold.
So, we just jump, jump,jump...
Before we tanned ourselves to sleep in their beige colored fine sand....
In my opinion, beach weather in the Philippines is still the best, plus the fact that we have a lot of awesome beaches... Woot!

That's All!
