Looking back & forward...

While having my caffeine fix, I just realized that 2007 is almost coming to an end; well in this case, few more hours and it’s going to be a brand new year. Thoughts begin to ponder…

2007 has been a real challenging for me… it has been such a great year, but seriously it was a bit dramatic as well. Believe me, I seriously shed a lot of tears in every aspect of my life. It has been a roller coater journey for me. A point in my daily grind when everything seems so odd and everything seems so possible. Of course, it could’ve been the gravity of situation

Looking back, I have traveled more than I should this year. Started living away from family, risk my hard earned money, getting away in my comfort level, drank few times when in reality I don’t usually drink, made some tough decisions in my life, done things or should I say let things happen even if I knew I shouldn’t… All I know is, for some reason, it has become much more of m. I’m learning new things one day at a time… there are still a lot of things I have to learn.

Family and friends, you know who you are. You’ve been around for both and good and difficult times in my life, of course there are some of you who have personality conflict but in the end love prevails… I can truly say that each and every one of you is valuable to me. I am felt very fortunate and grateful to have you guys around.

Oh yeah, to my blog reader, Thank you for the effort and entrusting me your time.

My horoscope prediction reads not a good one for me this 2008. But I made a conscious decision that I’ll still be the same or perhaps a better. I’ll stay and BE happy.

Let us look forward to better us… be always reminded of the beauty of life.

Cheers to 2008!

Christmas pix

This is my 2007 Christmas day pix...

Sorry been posting a lot of pix lately... My mind is taking time to process... Don't really want to think much because I've been so tired for the past 1.5 months.... Super hectic workload; But the good news is... I'm taking a few days off and my boss agrees to let me have it, with this note: “Have fun and recharge your mind for the next 2 months are going to be crazy." Uhhmm, well I bet he meant was crazier... hmmm maybe we (our team) should seriously consider getting one conference room and transform it to Safeway's Lawson dev team dorm...haha! Kidding aside I really love my job even though it is consuming my time... yet I know I seriously need a time off from work , for I am stressed and ranting a lot.. really!

Looking forward to 2008…. Weeee!

Crazier than usual

The past month has been a bit overwhelming for me, for work load though. The days have been really crazier than usual; I haven’t really got into serious shopping for Christmas since I’ve been working and working and working even on weekends. And right now I've been awake and been working for 18 hours now....

I should have done an blog entry for a very dear friends who will be missed because he left us for money and he hasn't even got the nerve for his last blood ( ehemm.. Mic yoohoo!). hope you'll enjoy your bag of golds...Hmpf! Kidding aside, I will definitely miss my Kuya Mikeee, goody goody best beans... but I hope you stay cool as always... alwayssssssss

And to our a dear friend Christie who is now on her last day working for safeway ... hope you stay happy and enjoy you bag of golds as well... I hate you for going too soon but I will always love you... keep in touch gurl, I will miss you :(

Anyway, anyway, anyway.... Enough for the drama!

Finally, I was able to get my long overdue hair chopped @ Piandre last Tues. – Stress reliever? You can call it that ….

Behrouz Persian Cuisine

I just hate it when I’m almost always committing gluttony … that is when dining in at Behrouz Persian cuisine… Gawd that resto , left a mark in my and my family’s heart…er stomach…

The Timog branch is our favorite, the place isn't air-conditioned, the ambiance is not that fascinating (much presentable now than a year or 2 years ago) and the service isn't great either, but the food is always appetizing. Their garlic/onion and hot sauce is definitely a winner. Price is inexpensive as well…

Beef Kebab:

Mutabal: Grinded grilled eggplant with olive oil
This one of my favorite
L.T.O: Liver tomato and onion

They also have branches in Wilson and Metro walk, where the place is more presentable; servings doubled but would cost 3X higher…

exhausted

Loud sigh!
... I am sooooooo freaking tired.

Sorry for writing such none sense , sorry for not making updates or should I say sensible post...

Next time would be much better...

Inhale... exhale.... I can do this!

-----

Weillllll... I've actually been wanting to post these since Sunday but keep on forgetting, got this from Cza. Hmmmmm spooky, it's almost true, well for me...

Get to know yourself better

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

--- Am I straightforward? ;-)

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

--- Of course I don't behave seductively.. Hmpf

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

--- I do believe in myself..haha!

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.'

--- oohhh mood swing it is ;)

Kind and Gentle

Your kindness is your charm - you are also gentle and sweet. Everybody likes to be around people with your personality. Like a psychologist, people like to talk to you to discuss their problems because you are proper and discrete, as well as confident. You look mature and people respect you. People with this kind of character are few and far between.

What's your personality love style?

Here is the analysis:

You desire a love that will last forever. You are quite serious about finding this type of love, and that's why you think carefully about the men that you meet before deciding whether you could really love them. You don't just develop a crush on someone overnight: you look at a person's personality and other aspects of their life before deciding to form an attachment. If a guy doesn't meet your expectations, you would rather be alone. Your love has to be perfect. Be careful though, you could be missing out on some worthy relationships because your standards are so high.

Safeway Christmas party 2007

Last Friday was a very busy day for us but when the clocks ticks 5:30 pm, almost everyone left their PCs behind and gathered in Fiesta San Miguel Bar, Dusit Hotel for our company's annual Christmas party. For a night, Safeway Manila goes Broadway... Though the place is kinda small for everyone, though they only offered refillable beer and no wines, though the band only played 5 new wave songs, though we have long food line... the party was astonishing...

That All!

Out of my league

I want to sleep...
I want to shop...
I want to go to SPA...
I want to have my haircut...
I want to eat good food...
I want to dance...
I want to sing...
I want to cry…
I want to bite/ pinch…
I want to laugh out loud…

Arrggghhh... I just feel so tireddddd.

I'm a bit feeling low but I can surpass this day I will.... Aja Aja fight fight...
*Inhale –Exhale* Cheer up little me.

Busy freakin’ day again...

Making me seethe

According to Plato

"Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something."
I hate People who are intolerant of other people, and without that other people knowing... swoosh... so I am a little pissed-off learning that a friend is saying oddly thing about a friend which involves a dear friend. Act 1, I told the dear friend what she did and I’m hands off I was really pissed but then I’m seriously fine with it. Now, she’s acting uncanny and she’s starting to hack me off... Strike two!

Pre-Xmas party @ redbox

I'm an alcoholic freak... Nah of course I'm not.

I don't really drink on a normal day but yes, yes I do drink on occasion but definitely no beers and when I say on occasion it is prolly like 2X to 3x a year, and that means I knew and trust my company well in other words I only drink when I’m in good hands. Naks!

Anyway last Saturday was our group (Safeway + Accenture) pre-Xmas celebration and was Ken ken’s b-day bash as well, the event happened in Red box were there is flowing pica-pica red wine, vodka and beers. The party started at around 6 pm and ended at around 7 am, YEAP that was almost 13 hours; I came in late because I watched musical play “into the woods” which I'll blog later on.

Fast forward --> Overall it was one hell of unforgettable party, incredibly happy happy fun fun ... There was singing, dancing, eating, laughing, crying, there was Adrian's magic tricks by the pool table, there was the highlight of the night --Colin's almost fight scene and there was I, shamefully blocked out-- Yikesss! Enough, enough of the story now… We’re KEWL right? –haha!

KopiRoti

"Kopi" is coffee, while "roti" is bread, therefore kopiroti is a about bread and coffee... Kopiroti is a coffee shop that originated in Singapore, not quite new here in Manila, but but but there is a newly open branch in The Columns... Yipppeee! Another food place selection for us.

Anyway the branch in the columns is not really flashy but it is tidy and a bit cozy. Among its specialties is their freshly baked kopi bun which smelled really good, it is cut into 4 equal parts when served, crusty on the outside while soft with just right amount of butter filling on the inside. It is best paired with Kopi C (with condense milk) or Kopi O (black cofi) or tea C or Tea O perhaps.

Me? I paired my buns with two soft boiled eggs with a soya sauce... Personally I like their egg preparation, since I normally put soy sauce on my eggs; It is best paired with roti toast according to the menu. But the egg itself is good enough for me.

Price is not costly, a cup of coffee or tea would cost around P45 and a kopi bun is only P35. The menu items is just few and as the name suggest mostly bread and coffee...

I am not sure how else to describe the taste other than saying that you just have to go find out for yourself. Beside there are several branches here in Metro.

Bulacan sale & Causeway seafood restaurant

Yesterday, we went all the way to Meycauayan, Bulacan for STAC big garments sale. I was surprised to see a bunch of people @ 10 in the morning, lurking and shopping for clothing in one of the warehouse in Sterling industrial park. Ok it was my 1st time going there and I think the fad is understandable because you can buy export quality clothes, bags, shoes such as Polo, Zara, MNG AX, etc. at a very low cost, plus the management provide free packed lunch (we got pork chop and rice)/afternoon snack (burger) and sodas/water, the catch? Crowd is heavy, you have to dig for good finds and wait for long lines to pay. And since it is their second day sale already(sale date:Nov 29- Dec 1), good items such as lacoste/guess bags were wiped-out already. Uhhhhh-hummm patience is really much needed here. Glad I have it yesterday… hahah!

Anywooo, after shopping we ended up munching dimsums in Causeway seafood restaurant in Timog. Causeway is a Chinese restaurant and is one of our favorite places after spa or simply after hanging-out, well that goes for my high school buddies; because their dimsum are incredibly flavorsome and not expensive, around P43 bucks each during off-peak hours.
NOWWWWW, I'm feeling hungry :(

Curfew in Metro Manila

Yes yes, this is my 3rd enrty for today.
It's because I'm ranting...

Sadness... Phillipine goverment declares curfew in Metro Manila starting 12 midnight today until 5am

I'm pasting the full news her, got this from inquirer:

Gov’t declares curfew in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

‘This is not martial law’--PNP chief

By Lira Dalangin-Fernandez
INQUIRER.net
Last updated 07:49pm (Mla time) 11/29/2007

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 2) The government, through Interior and Local Secretary Ronaldo Puno has imposed a curfew throughout Metro Manila, in Central Luzon (Region 3), and CALABARZON (Region 4-A).

The curfew starts 12 midnight to 5 a.m. Friday.

"We are doing this to protect the citizenry. This is not martial law,"
Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.

Razon said the curfew would hopefully be implemented for just a day.

In a news briefing in Malacañang, Puno appealed to the public to "bear with the inconvenience" brought about by the declaration of the curfew.

He said the curfew was issued "to allow law enforcement agencies to continue their follow-up operation."

Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon has been directed to issue the guidelines on the curfew, Puno added.

"We would encourage everyone to cooperate with the rules and guidelines relative to this curfew," he said.

Puno said regions 3 and 4-A were included in the curfew because there were some areas here that were part of the greater Manila area.

"Police authorities want to ensure that Manila is safe and sound," he said.

Asked if there was a possibility of extending the curfew, Puno said this could be the case "if the follow up operations that would ensue will not achieve their objectives," but added that this would be reviewed on a day-to-day basis.

Puno said public transportation would not be allowed to ply in the period of curfew.

He added that those that would be in the streets during the period of curfew would be the subject of "serious scrutiny" in checkpoints that would be set-up in the three regions affected.

Puno said those that would be subjected to checkpoints should be able to present valid identification cards and should not be carrying weapons.

Sigh... I want peace in our country =(

CAFÉ HAVANA

Cafe Havana is a resto-bar that serves authentic Cuban and Spanish dishes. There are several branches of Café havana here in Manila but I’ve been going to Greenbelt 3 branch. What can I say?

Ok, Ok, Good side first. Cafe Havana serves good food, well I personally lurve their tender juicy steak (yummy), good music (Jazz, Latin, Congo), nice chill-out place especially after tiring work days... And this:

Mojito and Mangojito are definitely love.

NOW, with the cost exception, the real bad side for me is that, most foreigners flocked together in this place, nope I have no problem with aliens but this place is packed with prostitutes. I just hate the fact that the resto-bar is becoming red-district at night time. Gawd, there are lots of woman and gay (post-op or pre-op I’m not sure) ,but they are really foxy, I mean fox-ier than those woman… I’m kinda wondering though if foreigner knew that they are man back then…ALL RIGHT, enough now, I shall stop here.

Workey workey eat eat

All work, no play but definitely we wouldn't missed good eating.

Monday I was asking Rommel about certain Italian resto when we started to feel hungry, so after a few minutes of chitchatting in MOC, we headed straight to Amici de don bosco and have yummy yummy pizza and pasta. Ohhhh yeah I also have my UCC’s blueberry cheesecake that night.

Tuesday was mangojito day for us, our original plan was to watch pinoy flick but ended up having dinner at GB3's Banana leaf curry house and chill-out a little at Cafe Havana.

Noticed that I haven't taken food pictures and I am sorry. I did remember taking pictures but that was after we ate...we must be really really hungry. Anywooo, I will be blogging about some details about banana leaf and cafe havana next time.

Afraid to love

When a friend asked me if I’m afraid to love, without any shilly-shallying I replied "NO". And had a thought again, if I'm not really afraid then why... well I’m pretty and pretty damn smart… haha!

Yes, I have been disappointed in the past, shattered, and hurt... you know;p, but I don't think "hurt" is really not a bad thing for one main reason that I've learned a lot of hell about it, it is somehow a part of who I am now, a great force that shaped my personality. However, having said that I'm pretty sure that I’m more cautious now, not on falling in love but finding/choosing the right one, beside I’m getting old, right?

You, are you afraid on falling in love?

Anyway leaving you with some love quotes:

'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. -Alfred Lord Tennyson

Love is never lost. If not reciprocated, it will flow back and soften and purify the heart. - Washington Irving

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have lost at all - Samuel Butler
