Seaside Dampa

Dampa is a haven for seafood lovers here in Manila. Well basically the word dampa in Filipino lingo means "mini house" but was given another meaning here in Manila; it is rather a style of eatery.

“Dampa Style” eateries has basic concept which is to buy and choose your favorite food in their wet-market stalls and then hand it to your chosen restaurant to have it cooked the way you like.

There are several dampa places here in metro, the 3 most popular places were- Paranaque which was the original dampa place, then there was one in libis and the one in Macapagal...

Let me concentrate on Macapagal, since this is the last one I went to. Well, the place is much bigger and cleaner than the one in Paranaque and Libis. It has a spacious parking area at the back - Of course, the area itself smells fishy since it is a market place and since most of the stalls sell seafood products (but yes they also sell meat products). There are around 40+ restaurants to choose from...

Pricing:
Tuna Belly- P300/kilo
Shirmp- P300- 600 /kilo depending of size
Lobster- Around P1000/kilo
Crab-P350/kilo

Cooking service is around P100 and up.... I just hope you choose the best restaurant and yeah a fresh products too.... Good luck!!!
