Shiatsu Massage & Relaksasi

Since my body is feeling restless yesterday from my sickness (slight fever), and since there is a newly open Relaksasi branch in the columns, and since it is just near/across our workplace... I went there yesterday and had my much needed relieving shiatsu massage.

Shiatsu massage treats common psychological and physical complaints by pressing pressure points. Proponents believe it alleviates disorders such as depression, anxiety, nausea, stiffness, headaches, arthritis, cramps, or pulled muscles. This Japanese equivalent of the Chinese method of acupressure comes from the Japanese words "shi" and "atsu," meaning "finger pressure."(www.wisegeek.com)

Benefits of Shiatsu Massage from (www.about.com)

  • Deep muscle and tissue relaxation
  • Stress reduction and management
  • Releases toxins from the body
  • Dis-ease preventative
  • Increased flexibility
  • Improved blood circulations
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Reduces mental anxieties
  • Balances ki (chi)
  • Calms nervousness
  • Increases mental and spiritual awareness
  • It feels good!

Anyway back to Relaksasi columns: The place is just small but pretty much relaxing, is clean and in order. Therapist is good or perhaps I got the right one. Price is so-so, a Shiatsu massage cost me P450 plus 20% off. They offer other service such as Swedish, Shiatsu, combination, hilot and other traditional holistic therapies, body scrub and wrap rituals, hand & foot pampering, facials and other contemporary therapies such as stone and cellulite massage and etc. Ooooh, I think they cannot accommodate groupies, I mean the last time we inquire there are only 3 massage therapist available so we sought for other place that can accommodate 5 of us all at the same time.

Friendster view

Whoaaa! I was able to capture this yesterday (now friendster site is blocked from my workplace by the way), 440 views since 09/01/2007 -that was a lot; it make me feel like a star... haha!

And since I've mentioned that the site is blocked in my ofc... Please email or text/IM me if you have important messages, because I can't read friendster messages as regular as before.

On a side note: I think I'm sick, felt tired, restless and with mild headache.* sigh*

JT's manukan

Last Friday I was pretty amazed on how JT's manukan along Anapolis, Greenhills expanded. It looks much bigger now and uhmmm better.

JT's Manukan is an outdoor restaurant owned by famous local actor Joel Torre. It offers delectable Ilonggo-style cuisine such as chicken inasal (grilled) and kansi (Iloggo style bulalo soup) in a reasonable price. Place neither has air-conditioning nor a classy interior but the food quality they serve is great and so far consistent.

Shssh! Now I’m not sure if I should regret writing this entry, because I’m craving for hot and tasteful JT’s kansi … Arrrgghhh!

Wensha Spa

Wensha Spa in QC is one of my favorite places here in Metro; I love the quality of the massage they offer, I've been going to this SPA like 5+ years now. Anyway last Wednesday my colleague and I went SPA tripping and decided to try the newest addition of Wensha SPA in Pasay. I am amazed by how cozy it look; Place is huge, clean and relaxing, uhmmm yeah it is way better and way nicer than the one in Timog.

For P580 you have access to their wet floor (hot and cold Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and shower because it has division and doors), the superb massage (choice of Swedish, Shiatsu or combination) and food (Shabu-Shabu or buffet; depending on the day) and bottomless drink (Ice tea or orange juice)

Wensha SPA is a Korean spa that offers a lot of treatments including foot and body massages, aromatherapy, manicure/pedicure and facials. It is located in Pasay, Roxas blvd (previous boom na boom) and is open 24 hours.

I simply heart the Wensha pasay!

Avenue Q - It sucks to be me

I watched the Avenue Q last Saturday with Mike and Rommel at the Carlos P. Romulo auditorium here in RCBC Plaza and we absolutely love it. No wonder it won 2004 best musical award. I just love the songs( it sucks to be me, I'm a little bit racist,the internet is for porn, schandenfreude and etc) and acts, it is simply hilarious – just like the ad - It is like life only funnier. It is unique pairing of people and puppets, yes it is a puppet show but not suitable for kids because the show addressed issues like sex (the puppets are doing it onstage) ,drinking ( I just love the bad Idea bear) and internet is for porn; (Just grab your d**k and double click andTrekkie monster is soooo funny).

Kudos for the talents- Aiza Seguerra, Rachel Alejandro, Teenee Chan, Frenchie Dy Rycharde Everley, Felix Rivera and Joel Trinida; And for the director Bobb Garcia– Clap clap to all of you. My P1250 is all worth it ;-)

Here some pix with the cast:

What is AVENUE Q? (from site)

AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Lest you guys wanna watch it: It still got another week until September 23 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza. Tickets available at ticket world.

Warts

I just underwent electrocautery with enla (cream anesthesia) procedure for my face and neck in Makati med yesterday. I then had unnoticeable warts, yes, yes I did mentioned “unnoticeable” but I had it removed even though dermatologist said that it’s ok because mine is fine and too small, but for vanity and peace of mind sake I wanted it out… after all warts is still freaking warts right? It is viral; it grows, multiplies and is contagious when in contact with the skin of another. Nope the procedure is not painful maybe because of enla but I’m feeling less beautiful now because of the black dots…but I’m ok.

Grrrrr! I wonder where I got those from.

Migraine

Last night, I was struggling to be freed from migraine once again. Like before there seems to be no remedy but the so called quality sleep (more than 8 hours) and yeah I did throw (all the food I took for the day) and I hate the feeling.. ggrrrrr,

Worst is that I have to travel very weakly from office to home. Mic and Cat- So much thanks for the company, I really really appreciate it; Hugs for the two of you.

From wiki migraine is a neurological disease best known for severe headaches that are its most salient symptom.

A migraine trigger is any factor that, on exposure or withdrawal, leads to the development of an acute migraine headache. Triggers may be categorized as behavioral, environmental, infectious, dietary, chemical, or hormonal.

According to the National Library of Medicine's Medical Encyclopedia, Migraine attacks may be triggered by:

* Allergic reactions

* Bright lights, loud noises, and certain odors or perfumes

* Physical or emotional stress

* Changes in sleep patterns

* Smoking or exposure to smoke

* Skipping meals

* Alcohol or caffeine

* Menstrual cycle fluctuations, birth control pills

* Tension headaches

* Foods containing tyramine (red wine, aged cheese, smoked fish, chicken livers, figs, and some beans), monosodium glutamate (MSG), or nitrates (like bacon, hot dogs, and salami)

* Other foods such as chocolate, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, banana, citrus, onions, dairy products, and fermented or pickled food

Hwaaattt???? Those mouth watering food?? Sniff sniff sniff… anyway I have an appointment with neurologist on Monday.

Guilly's Island

After watching Disturbia last Friday, I went clubbing with office friends @ Guilly's Island beside ABS-CBN. Entrance fee is 200 pesos; consumable of 2 beers or a bacardi coke.

The place was way too packed at 12 am but we managed to make a grooving space till around 4 or 5 am. Not my typical gimik night out but clubbers would surely love this place. And of course, I enjoyed the time spent with friends... It is indeed a great way to build camaderie.

I'm feeling bored, so friggin' bored. waaah!

TonTon Thai Massage

If you want a good Thai massage, you have to try TonTon traditional massage. Aside from their well trained staff and affordable price, you can find the place almost everywhere.

I've only tried their Tagaytay and Makati branch, but I was satisfied with their service. The massage would cost around P250-300 for 60 minutes. The rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body is done on the floor with mattress. The place is small no wet floors, no locker room but is tolerable; rooms are divided only by curtains, so they’ll expect you to be quiet. Therapist will ask to change your clothes to pajamas before the bone cracking session

Why did I wrote this entry? Simply because I am feeling exhausted right now and, and I was thinking of going there again soon.

Friday night and 1408

Friday night was spent with friends watched 1408 @ Glorietta, hang out in Dusit's fiesta San Miguel then spent the rest of the night @ El pueblo's sidebar. ooohhhh we have lots of pictures in sidebar.

Sidebar pictures: (some of..)

1408 starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson was adapted from Stephen king's short story was simply amazing. It is more of a thriller than horror but is not a bore. It is a story about a ghostly room that...the twist is "different” and I like it.

The Story from about.com

Michael Enslin’s a talented writer who left behind the world of textured fiction to pen a series of pulp books on haunted locations. Currently at work on his latest project, Ten Nights in Haunted Hotel Rooms, Enslin (John Cusack) comes across a postcard warning him to stay away from the Dolphin Hotel’s room 1408. Curiosity piqued, he begins researching the Dolphin and quickly discovers an unusual number of grisly deaths have occurred in the hotel’s suite 1408.

No one is allowed to stay in 1408 by order of the hotel’s manager, Gerald Olin (Samuel L Jackson). But Enslin, after much pushing and prodding, gets his way and is handed the room’s old-fashioned key (magnetized cards malfunction in 1408’s door…spooky…). After settling into the suite, Enslin – a non-believer – at first tries to make light of the room’s quirky little attributes. But just as he settles in, the room stops playing nice and treats Mr. Enslin to a display of its horrific best.
